Meet Our Members: Deana Zaccardo

meet our members news

Deana Zaccardo joined Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS on 03/13/2023. She was sponsored by a long timer member, Gail King. Deana recently moved back to Lubbock, her hometown, and was looking for meaningful ways to serve her community.   No one wants their son to have a stroke. Recently, however, that is exactly what happened to their 31-year-old son. The stroke involvement left him with limited mobility and independence. It was her childhood friend, Kadee Harcrow, who first invited her to a Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS Monday meeting where she learned of our great cause and found out about the great people we have as members.

Deana has a master’s degree in Exercise Science and worked in that industry for many years. For 20 years, she and her husband also owned a large bakery/café in Amarillo, but recently sold it. Deana stated she is enjoying her time off! Currently she is studying for her real estate license as she wants to pursue property investments, property management or whatever God puts in her path.

When asked about an interesting fact about her, Deana stated she is a fitness/health professional who married a man who loved donuts and cake and ended up being a visionary for a popular bakery!!

On July 1, 1994, she married Richard, AKA: “Baker Man”. They have three great kids who are now grown. Devin is 31 years old, who has special needs and lives in a nursing home. Brett is 26 years old, is a Special Ed Teacher and Volleyball Coach. Zach is 24 years old, is a Mechanical Engineer. Deana stated they also have a pet named Ollie.

Deana’s goals are to become adjusted to this season in their lives. Meet like minded people in their new community. She states their Family Mission and Values are: Relationships, Simplicity, Service to God and Others, Freedom, Manageability, a Life of Moderation, and Figure out what she wants to be when she grows up…LOL!!!

We are so grateful to have Deana Zaccardo as a member of our Monterey AMBUCS Team, and whether you're a long-time Lubbock resident or a newcomer, if you too would like to learn more about our mission and see about joining our Team, just JOIN US at one of our regular Monday lunches at the McKenzie/Merket Alumni Center on the Tech Campus. You'll be glad you did!
