meet our members

Brett King joined Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS in 2009.  “Faisal Zeitouni got me involved, and I really had a great time wit the people in the club.  It was very fun and not stuffy.”

Brett also added that he loved the mission of helping disabled children become more mobile and have the opportunity to ride outside with their friends and family and enjoy life better.  “I still tear up when we give AmTrykes away and see the smiles on their faces.”

He has served on various committees in the club, and served as the Club President from June of 2012-May of 2013. He works for UMC Physicians as the Quality Initiatives Coordinator – working with insurance companies on new ways to get patients seen and have the proper treatment offered to them. He loves to play golf, but says, “My favorite thing is to spend time with my family at Texas Tech sporting events. “

Brett is married to the “lovely Ginger” and has “two beautiful girls”, Kelsie 24 and Reagan 21, and a step-son Tyler 18. Kelsie got married in October; Reagan is attending Radiology School at South Plains; and Tyler will be attending UT Austin. Brett says that as a very future emptynester, “I hope to travel a little more with the lovely Ginger.”

Folks like Brett are a huge asset to our club, and if you would like to get that same feeling Brett does when an AmTryke puts a smile on a child’s face, the JOIN US one Monday a the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center on the Tech Campus and find out how to get involved.
