Annual Valentine’s Party

Our hardworking Social Committee plans several events a year, and one that we all look forward to is the Annual Valentines Party. This year the turnout was down a little due to the flu and other member and spouse illnesses and hospital stays, but those who did attend had a fun evening, complete with live piano music.

We were once again at the Reagor-Dykes downtown showroom (surrounded by some pretty awesome looking automobiles), and as usual for one of our socials, there was plenty of good food, with a catered buffet from the Italian Gardens.

We had a couple of special guests, with our President Kim Davis bringing two of her sons – her oldest son Hunter (the bearded one) and his younger brother Hunter. Hunter is a twin to Nolan who could not be there, but it was good to have these three together, because Hunter leaves Monday for Afghanistan.

Because Monterey AMBUC member Rollo Gurss is head of the Social Committee and also a member of the Texas Twister Ski Club, we shared the evening with their club members, and one of their members, Gary Jeter. brought a red rose for each of the ladies in attendance. It looks like Angie McDonald enjoyed not only her red rose, but also her wine and meal with her Valentine Gary (a Monterey AMBUC member).

Thanks again to the Social Committee for planning this fun evening, It’s hard to believe the committee only has one more social to plan for our fiscal year (June 1-May 31), and that’s the Installation Banquet for our new Club Officers in May. Wow – three fourths of the year already gone!
