Scholarship Recipient – Leisa Goode

scholarship recipients people weve helped

It’s always good to know that our yearly fund-raising efforts to provide scholarships for Therapy Students in all disciplines at Texas Tech are being multiplied by those Scholarship Recipients – taking their educations and touching the lives of multiple people well after school.

We got to hear one such story recently, as we welcomed Leisa Goode as our guest speaker for our regular Monday Luncheon at the McKenzie/Merkett Alumni Center on the Tech campus.

Leisa serves as the Community Marketer for Trustpoint Rehabilitation and Hospital Facility in North Lubbock. She began working with the Trustpoint team in 2013, starting in the admissions office, and transitioning to the Community Marketer position in 2017.

She not only shared with our Members a comprehensive review of all the amenities that Trustpoint provides our Community as a hospital, but also shared the extensive programs that Trustpoint offers in both Physical and Occupational Therpay – as one of the few facilities in the Lubbock area that provides both full hospital nursing services, and a full program of Physical and Occupational Therapy.

Prior to joining the Trustpoint team, Leisa started her career in Physical Therapy working at UMC for 23 years, and got her university training in Physical Therapy from TTHHSC, graduating in 1990.

Leisa was extremely complimentary of our club’s Scholarship Program, because she informed us that she had been a recipient of one of our Scholarships while she was finishing up her training at Tech almost 30 years ago.

Talk about a little going a long way, and that’s why we do what we do; and if you’d like to be a part of stories like Leisa’s, then Join Us some Monday for our regular luncheon and find out how you, too, can be a part of changing people’s lives!
