meet our members

Jason Kennell joined Lubbock Monterey Chapter of AMBUCS in December 2021. Pam Sweeten was his sponsor. Jason stated he was looking for ways to get involved in the community. Like many people in the Lubbock area, he had not heard about AMBUCS. However, when Pam explained the mission of the Lubbock Monterey Chapter of AMBUCS, Jason thought it sounded like a wonderful organization, and he should be a part of it!

Jason attended a couple of luncheon meetings and decided "it felt like a great fit for him". Another reason Jason joined, he wanted to set a good example for his son and to show him the importance of helping those in need. In our chapter of AMBUCS, we have instances where a father or mother is a member and later, a son or daughter becomes a member.

Jason is the Senior Accounting Supervisor of Tax at SM Energy which is a premier operator of top tier oil and gas assets.

When asked, "What is an interesting fact about himself", he responded he has lived in 10 different cities across several states. He and his wife plan to set "some roots" in Lubbock. Lubbock is where his wife and her family are from. In April 29, 2020, he and his wife, Crystal, will be married for 10 wonderful years. They have one son, Alexander, and two Australian Shepherds (Breckenridge and Peyton).

For Jason's favorite pastime, he and his wife love to cook and entertain for their family and friends. He does enjoy playing golf and is also an avid chess player. As far as Jason's goals, he believes it is important to live life to the fullest with his family, and to help as many people along the way.

We are so grateful to have Jason Kennell as a Member of our Monterey AMBUCS Team, and whether you're a long-time Lubbock resident OR a newcomer, if you, too, would like to learn more about our mission and see about joining our Team, just JOIN US at one of our regular Monday Luncheons at the McKenzie/Merket Alumni Center on the Tech Campus. You'll be glad you did!! You can also visit our website: montereyambucs.org for additional information.
