Meet Our Members: Eric Sansom

meet our members

Wonder why the guy in the picture is so happy? It’s because that’s our current Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS President, Eric Sansom at our Annual New Officer Installation Banquet tonight at Lakeridge Country Club just before he swore in his replacement for the upcoming club year (our Club Year is June 1-May31).

That’s his wife Allison with him. Eric and Allison are both lifelong Lubbock residents, and met at the Coronado/Monterey Ag farm his senior year. They are the parents of two young boys, Campbell and Crawford who are excitedly looking forward to the birth of another brother.

Eric works as a Commercial Loan Officer at Plains Capital Bank, and says that he “lends money to all types of businesses to help them grow their business.”  He has only been a member of the club for 4 years, but even in such a short time, Eric has brought that same kind of enthusiasm for helping an organization grow to his involvement.

He apparently got his leadership training early, having served as Vice President of his FFA Chapter at Coronado High School his junior year and as President his senior year. He says that Baseball was his favorite pastime until he graduated High School, now it is golf. Eric says, “It’s my favorite hobby because it allows me to be outdoors and compete at something I love.”

When asked what his goals are, Eric’s pretty clear, “I want to provide the best possible life for my family and have as much fun as possible with them. They are the reason I do everything!”

Eric says he joined Monterey AMBUCS because he has a strong desire to help children who have disabilities. “Experiencing the pure joy a child has when they receive an AmTryke is a one of a kind feeling that anyone would cherish for a lifetime.”

Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS is grateful to have young professionals like Eric leading our club into the future, and if you’d like to experience that same joyous feeling Eric spoke about, check out our Join Us page, and see how easy it is to do.
