amtryke recipients people weve helped

On May 5, 2023, at the Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS noon meeting, Gabby Powell received her very own AMTRYKE. Deirdre Bailey, who is a Physical Therapist at the Lubbock Cooper ISD, referred Gabby for her AMTRYKE.

Gabby is an adventurous 9-year-old who loves to be outside. She especially enjoys going on nightly walks with her Daddy where she rides in her stroller. Gabby has a rare genetic, neurological disorder call Pitt Hopkins syndrome. She has special needs and is non-speaking. By Gabby having her very own AMTRYKE, she will gain increased independence and her family are looking forward to her using her AMTRYKE when she goes with her dad on his nightly walks.

Gabby's therapist, Deirdre Bailey, believes she will benefit from the AMTRYKE as she would be able to use it to improve her lower and upper extremities, increase her range of motion, strengthen her muscles, and increase her endurance. She will be able to use her AMTRYKE in her PE class or around the hallways in school to promote independence and peer to peer interaction.

This AMTRYKE was given to Gabby free of charge. This was made possible due to our sponsors, members, donations, and fundraiser event. As you can see, it takes many people for a recipient to receive their much-needed therapeutic tryke.
