Meet Our Members: Jerrod Shelton

Jerrod Shelton joined Lubbock Monterey Chapter of AMBUCS on Monday, September 20, 2021 and was sponsored by Shauna Brown with Airtex Heating and Air.

Shauna mentioned how inviting and fun the group was...and she was not wrong! The fact that this group exists for a higher purpose is really a big deal for Jerrod. The work for these kids and people of all ages with disabilities is really something else. Had Jerrod known about AMBUCS 10 years ago, he would have joined then too!

Jerrod is the CEO at a Lubbock marketing agency that drives innovative, meaningful and proven results, every time. According to Jerrod, they work with companies big and small, profit and non-profit. Some of their most meaningful work has come out of their relationships with Open Door and Grace Campus. Both of those organizations work with the homeless in our community, and they have done HUGE things for their friends on the streets in need. When asked, what is his most interesting fact about himself, he replied it was his photographing and gettin to meet the former President George W. Bush just 2 years after he accidentally got himself kicked out (by secret service of course) of a George W. Bush speaking event here in Lubbock.

Jerrod's favorite pastime is playing outside with Eden (his wife) and his kids. Whether that be basketball, the sprinklers, bikes and scooters, swings, forts, you name it!. Saturdays outside with the family, is the best vacation to him.

Eden and Jerrod were married on July 12, 2020 (right after the lockdowns). Their ceremony was adjacent to the Meadowbrook Golf Course, but they were technically on Mackenzie Park; therefore, Mayer Pope had to sign off on their "COVID approved" wedding. It worked! They have 3 girls: Peyton (9), Carson (6), and Maddox (0), who are all their bundles of joy!. In addition, they have one dog, Simba, and 8 bunnies hopping around their backyard, and all the bunnies have names, unique personalities, and make them laugh.

When it comes to goals, Jerrod wants to make a difference, and he wants to leave a legacy. Organizations like the Lubbock Monterey Chapter of AMBUCS, helps him start that today and develop skills to take his endeavors to the next step.
