Rollo Gurss joined Lubbock Monterey Chapter of AMBUCS on May 30, 1987. Two of his friends, Rick Sosebee and Jim Berrier “got him in”. This came about when Rollo’s office was across the hall from Sosebee and Berrier’s office. They convinced Rollo he needed to “do something to give back to Lubbock” and Lubbock Monterey Chapter of AMBUCS was the way to go. Since his joining, he has been active in many areas this club.
Rollo works full time at Rollo Gurss Construction and Roofscapes. They design and build commercial, residential spaces, install and replace roofs.
Cindy and Rollo live on her grandmother’s old farm. They have raised 100s of animals there…including lions, tigers, Jaguar Horses, emus, ostriches, llamas, goats, birds, chickens, cats and dogs. Rollo likes classic cars and is the proud owner of a 1956 Porsche 356. Four days a week, he is involved in cross-fit training. When asked about his favorite pastime, he states he “loves to snow ski”.
He and Cindy have been married for almost 36 years. They have two grown kids who are married (Trace and Kimber). They also have two grandsons and one granddaughter. Through the years, they have had many pets, but now, only have two dogs.
Rollo’s main goal, is to keep active in and supporting Lubbock Monterey Chapter of AMBUCS’ mission. We are so grateful to have Rollo Gurss as a member of Lubbock Monterey AMBUCS Team, and whether you’re a long-time Lubbock resident or a newcomer, if you, too, would like to learn more about our mission and see about joining our Team, just JOIN US at one of our regular Monday Lunches at the McKenzie/Merket Alumni Center on the Tech Campus. You’ll be glad you did!!
