Meet Our Members: Christina Baker

Christina Baker joined Monterey AMBUCS in December of 2015 as Christian Jasper, but on February 17th married “her best friend” Ron Baker, on their 5th anniversary of being together.  She was introduced to the club by fellow member Deborah Scott-Riggs.

Christina works at Centennial BANK, where she is a Lending Officer.   She also serves on several non-profit Boards, including Habitat for Humanity Homeowner Selection Committee, Llano Estacado Group of Financial Women in Texas, the Inside Out Foundation, and is a Lubbock Chamber Ambassador.

When asked for an interesting fact about herself, Christina told us that she once played basketball against Sheryl Swoopes’ team and beat them in a tournament!! “Back when I could actually play basketball. Lol”, she added.

Her favorite pastime is traveling.  She has a place in Ruidoso and looks forward to having a place at the beach, so she and Ron can travel between the two!

Christina says she is the proud mother of two, Cassidy Hopkins of Mangum Oklahoma and Tanner Jasper of Lubbock.   Cassidy is the mother of her two grandbabies, Leiden and Haylee, and works at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus OK.  Tanner is a Jailer for Lubbock County Sheriff’s Department and will be entering Officer School later this year. He was married in 2015 and “has no plans for kids.”

Christina volunteers regularly at the non-profits, travels, and enjoys visits with her kids and grandkids; and wants to “continue to grow as a Lender and advance in my career field as far as I can.”  She also adds, “I look forward to retiring, traveling, and enjoying the rest of my life with my husband!!”

Sounds like Monterey AMBUCS has a great new addition to our team, and if you’d also like to JOIN US, come by for lunch some Monday at noon at the McKenzie/Merket Alumni Center.
